TUBER MAGNATUM

EXHIBITION

2020

As part of the collaboration with Wooden Houses, together with my partners Andrea and Erica Boccadoro, I curated this exhibition on the occasion of the 57th Mostra Nazionale del Tartufo bianco delle Marche.

Wooden Houses' communication is mainly focused on the theme of sustainability. Therefore, as main sponsor of the truffle fair, we organised an exhibition that explores all the natural and cultural features that make the white truffle so exclusive and acclaimed, while placing them in contrast to the challenges that threaten the existence of this Italian excellence.

The exhibition takes place on the ground floor of Palazzo Mercuri, a marvellous historical palace overlooking the main square in Sant'Angelo in Vado (Italy).

The exhibition develops in three stages: an initial part explores all the features that make the white truffle a synthesis of the perfection of nature; a middle part warns about the threats to its existence, in the form of scary headlines; a final part invites visitors to a sustainable lifestyle in order to defend our priceless naturalistic heritage.

A black thread guides the visitor through the path, consisting of printed wooden panels, paper prints and real truffle plants.

The thread becomes more intricate when it comes to climate change and pollution, and again linear during the final invitation to a responsible and conscious behaviour.

The wood boards used for this exhibit installation are PEFC certified, they therefore come from sustainable and responsible managed plantations, and they will be re-purposed after the exposition.
